Where is modern civilization heading?

As a society are we heading in the same direction as the ancient Romans? If so the question becomes.......

Are our leaders fiddling while civilization burns?

While we ponder the question I will post my personal thoughts on this blog. Often I will focus on current events that catch my interest, however I am not and do not pretend to be a news organization. I'm simply a guy with his own thoughts on issues that I believe affect our country and society.

Be forewarned, I have been accused of being a right wing thinker and if that is offensive please move on. Remember, this is my blog and my opinions, and unlike many facets of our already over-governed modern society they are not being forced on anyone.

However, please feel free to leave your comments, good, bad or indifferent, after all this is a free society we live in (at least for now).

Although I have never been one that feels the need to promote my site or the sites of others through building "links" the fact remains that occasionally I find a website that I wish to share. Why?

Simply because I enjoy reading it and I feel others might as well.

I have absolutely no criteria for these sites, I simply like what they offer or have to say. Now don't get me wrong, I have on occasion linked to sites I don't like or simply find ridiculous, those you can find right here Examples of Free Speech Stupidity, if you are so inclined.

In the meantime, here are some websites that I enjoy, I hope you do as well.

Dogwalk Musings
I discovered this blog on an American board on which we are both syndicated, The Jefferson Tree . Now it appears that the author, Marie and I share some of the same views (not all for certain), and we both love dogs. So that was enough reason for me to post a link.

The Blaze
Glenn Beck's own news blog. Occasionally Glenn is a little to much off the wall for even yours truly, however The Blaze is still a good place to find some great news. So you can still take Glenn with a grain of salt, but enjoy the news his site brings to you.

    Thanks for the link, Frustrated! I love that you're Canadian and find some areas with which we agree. It certainly shows that no matter from where one hails, frustrations with our respective governments and those of others shares a universiality!

    We live in a global economy and unfortunately this means that when one or more of the big boys (America, Europe, China) are fiscally careless, we all suffer. However, besides the economic impact I find it personally sad that America, a country that was once the beacon of personal freedom is sliding more and more to the Left with each passing day. Maybe the populace will come to its senses before it is too late
